Dr. Branden has authored twenty books and is known for his pioneering work on "the psychology of self-esteem."
Among his writing credits are The Psychology of Self-Esteem
and My Years with Ayn Rand. He founded The Nathaniel Branden Institute to teach the philosophy of Objectivism. For nearly two decades, he was associated with Ayn Rand and his work was instrumental in launching the Objectivist movement.
“Nothing is more characteristic of Objectivism, in its orthodox practitioners, than to encourage that kind of totally counterproductive judgmentalism… [In years past,] I was second to no man in my ability to pass devastating moral judgments. It's just that I'm a very different person today... I really regret the fact that it took me as long as it did to see more clearly about these issues.”
